Cool

Bolt-ons will get you about 10%
Internals will get you about 20%
Supercharger might get you 30%
and Turbo(s) might get you 50%
Add nitrous and you can get 100%
...for about 8 seconds
...once

Thats about 6 hp per pound. Meaning a 2 pound chicken with that engine strapped to it would have 12hp.

If you ever ate a bad chicken burrito, 12hp is nothing.

if you are over 25 and have any desire to get anywhere near that power level, sell your car and buy a turbo ASAP. easily achievable, easily manageable, and you'll retain the car's value.

The supercharger kits for the 996 / 997 are overpriced, so unless you're buying someone's takeoff (see six speed online) you're going to be out 13-14K installed. Exhaust add another 2-3K. Extra injectors, map for ethanol, a little fire suppression, some slicks, and you'll be out another 3 to 5. This assumes stock internals and stock compression.

Before you do any of that, if i remember correctly you have a mk1 tip? call up the guys at VF engineering, they are a well respected 996/7 supercharger vendor. Ask them about their experiences supercharging mk1 tips (power to rear wheels).
