Default Clutch Pedal Noise

Where do I apply lube to stop the noise? Sounds like typical cable as it moves.

If the noise comes from the clutch pedal, stick your head under the dash while lying on your back, you can hit all the joints/spring with lub. I use Wurth HHS2000 lub and it works great for me. Note that Porsche does not recommend lubricating the spring and sprinf housing with any lub other than its own blend. The worst joint in my case is the one connects the clutch pedal and the master cylinder push rod.

I will check this out. Is WD-40 ok for now? I can pick up some Wurth tomorrow?

I would not recommend WD40 since it will wash away any exsiting lub (grease). HHS2000 is special since it goes on as fluid which seeps through all the crevices and then it turns into solid, which makes it more or less permenant.

That's a cool trick to be aware of, I might need this at a later time... Thanks,

How about plain old lithium spray? Is that as good as the Wurth stuff?

No scientific proof but I'm sure HHS2000 appears much lighter when sprayed on so I assume it will penetrate the crevices much better than lithium spray. It's a little bit pricey for lub but then you don't need that much anyway so one can will last a LONG time. I tend to stick with what I know for sure will work

FYI, white lithium goes on like snot, it sits on the surface and does not penetrate. I found some Chain lube at Napa Auto parts that works great. It's a penetrating oil but does not go away like WD40. Been using it to lube all kinds of parts on all my auto without any trouble. That said, I still plan on using the Wurth on the clutch.

You can try motorcycle chain lube like PJ1 Blue or Chain wax if you have it on hand. It goes on light, penetrates and thickens up.

Get chain lube for "O" ring chains. It is easier on plastic/rubber. Chain lube works great any time you want good penetration and high film strength.

I sprayed white lithium 4 years ago and the squeak has never reappeared. Don't over think it...it's a very easy fix.

I noticed this same kind of noise/squeak, like on my former BMW E36. The BMW suffered from crappy design, where the bushing squeaked no matter what you did. I'll try using some Boeshield chain lube first chance I get.

I know it's NOT the clutch helper spring, because the noise didn't go away when I removed the spring.

Been four years and my car is doing it again. I don't even remember participating in this thread but I found my own solution!
