Default Porsche Transmission Companies

Rolling list of companies who rebuild Porsche Gearboxes. If you have any experience with these companies, work for these companies, or have had a rebuild at another company not listed here feel free to introduce yourself and share your story and I will update as needed.

COLORADO

There are 3 Porsche transmission specialists all within a few blocks of each other in Boulder, Colorado. I wasn't aware that CO was the Porsche Tranny hub of the US.

Aug 4, 2010 - I have personally spoken to Stan at Gbox (gboxweb.com) several times, and he's an extremely nice guy, and very knowledgeable of the drivetrain on these cars. I believe him to be a very honest guy, and I'm confident I will get top notch results from him based on our conversations - To wit I just shipped my 2003 996 Turbo transmission to Gbox to upgrade to taller OEM German Getrag GT2/Turbo gears and to fix/prevent the 2nd gear popout issue. I will keep everyone informed of the outcome.

Highly regarded by tuners
Pricey
plan on waiting a LONG time from what I hear.
What's your experience?

If you'd like me to add anything, or have any questions feel free to PM me or give me a call if I don't respond. Transmissions are extremely pricey, and can be a bit of a sore subject so I think this will help look out for the members best interests.

While I have not business will Gbox, Eric impressed me with his knowledge... If I was in the US, I would have bought one of their remanufactured units.

I'm use a G-Box rebuild for my 3.4 race car. Great service with a quick turn around and fair prices. These Gertag boxes are a POS to begin with, Stan gently holds my hand when I rant. He has made some valuable suggestions regarding coolers, gear oil, etc. Too bad I can't bolt up a G50 variant....

I run a Guard GT diff in the Gertag gearbox setup at 50/80. One of the most valuable tools you can have in a race setup.....

What solution did Gbox provide you for a cooler?
