Default Video from Autocross Saturday

Kentucky Region SCCA SOLO - Points Event #6

This is video I shot with my Go Pro Hero HD on Saturday. The runs are not in chronological order on the video. I put the side view first because it looks the coolest.

If anyone has any 911 protips for autocross or see any mistakes, I'm all ears.

Cool vids, like the way your front left wheel looks as if it has stopped rotating. Glad to see you are enjoying your Porsche.

nice runs.... keep it up, look ahead and work to smooth out your turns, and find the line thru each one....

you are young, you have time to practice

I noticed a lot of body roll.. my 996 was quite stiff and even the 86 (sloppy worn stock) "seems" less.. you have US Stock suspension? - dont worry, its not your limiting factor (ask me how I know)

Yeah, I think my limiting factor is the linkage between the seat and steering wheel. I think fixing that is going to be my next mod.

One of the factors in being fast and smooth is to pay attention to where you are looking. The more you can keep your gaze on the 2nd or 3rd gate ahead (instead of just the next gate), the better you will drive. Think of your current gate as only the setup for the next 2 gates.

If you are managing your weight transfer well (driving smoothly), the slower your car will feel while your times get faster.

A few years ago I drove my Audi TT to an Audi performance day at the track, and the instructors said the same thing Ferd.
