2003 Pricing Help
What would be an exceptable asking price for an 03 with 37,000. Brand new Upgraded RMS, Brand new LN Engineering IMS, Brand new tires, Fresh Oil Change, Fresh Brake Bleed. All with less than 100 miles on everything that's new. 80% remaining on pads, 85% remaining on clutch. Car is pristine condition.
Thanks for suggestions.

keep in mind that new parts, maintenance items, upkeep doesnt make a car neccesarily worth more, but worn parts, lack of maintenance and poor upkeep makes it worth less......

wow... everyone is on the IMS bearing bandwagon.... good strategy before the sell. This will be a new chapter in the 996 prices with these mods (for the educated of course).

Mileage means a lot with Porsche values. Excellence prices seem to work well for higher mileage cars. There are only two (out of 116) Mk 2 996s listed nationwide on cars.com with <40k miles for <$30k.
The nice ones are worth more. You just need to find a buyer who's looked at a few ratty ones first.
And I'd be willing to bet you could get almost 100% payback for the IMS upgrade, assuming the buyer knows anything about anything.

That is a nice car in a popular color in good condition with low miles. I would start around $32.5 and see where that gets you. You can always lower the price or negotiate down.
You might also look into having your local dealer or a higher end private dealer consign the car for you. Used car values are climbing and dealers are looking for nice, low mileage cars. They can charge more - and they can package a warranty into the financing. And even if you don't make any more money, at least you don't have to do all the paperwork, phone answering, and test-driving. It is one thing to find a private buyer who wants a 7 year old Porsche. It is another to find a private buyer with the cash or credit to spend $30k+.

It is amazing how many 996s are on autotrader.com for ridiculous money.
$50k for a 40k mile 2003 C4S? not this year buddy.

What's more interesting is the sleazo-dealer cars ASKING low $30s. As I posted before, there may never be a better time to commission an agent to hit Manheim for you. If the dealers are asking that low, the auction prices must be amazing.

Here is an example of a nice, relatively low mileage '03 996 at a dealer - at a higher initial asking price than a private seller could even consider. Sure they will probably bargain, and sure it is too much. But they will get a decent price for the car. Figure in a few grand as a consignment fee and this is not a bad route to go.
