As someone researching the 996 prior to purchasing this was at least an educational read. Having been a member of several Audi forums and seeing the same questions asked repeatedly, especially by new members, I get it. But I do appreciate any thread that at least helps bring to light issues I need to be aware of as I begin my search for the right 911 for me.

Cool

IMS failure! We don't got no stinking IMS failure.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

(I can't think of any more movie quotes right now)

How dare them enter the relm of high performance engines and rev their engines at high rpms!

You should see my bikes exhaust after a healthy crusie. For good reason the exhaust tip directs the flames clear of the bike.

I think its in reference to guys that sit around not driving their cars for long periods that keep saying I'MS gunna drive me car one of these days. Then when they finally do and all lube has rotted they call it the IMS failure

I am very tempted to click the report post exclamation mark on this comment. Due to not wanting the admin guy spit his coffee on his keyboard and screen and you being from big red country I am not doing so.

GO BIG RED !!!

I am so glad I didn't know about the IMS issues before I purchased by '99 last year, Im sure I would not have purchased a porsche.

That being said, I am totally in love with the car and plan on replacing the IMS with LN's bearing this fall. Hate to have the car tied up for the summer.

Keep in mind that EVERYONE else is in the same mindset.. Last year the supply of kits could not keep up with the off season demand.. Hell our schedule is already filling for fall, Dean scheduled two IMSR procedures today!

I'm not a native hawaiian either.

Big red does have some fantastic years like the years nobody could break through their line because they were always handcuffed together. To each their own for which team.

Wait, I think you used too small a font. EVERYONE. There, that's much better. Should get you lots more hysteria-induced revenue....

+1000 or so, had I known the issue and the cost of the repair in the event the issue presented itself i would never have owned what will go down as one of the best cars I have ever owned and loved

You know the tracked cars seldom have the problem. I know the solobikers and such are tough to deal with but you could just try to make sure you do some healthy acceleration and braking some times with out flying into a ticket or car confiscated and driven around by the vice squad.

Some day some way there might be another track on the island.
