Default Thinking of selling my 99' C4...

...is $18,000.00 about right? 99 C4 GR on black, Tip, 56K miles, never hit - never painted or re-sprayed, near mint condition. Factory LItronics, rear wiper, Porsche reman installed recently - VERY strong! Fuel gage unreliable - sender has been replaced and dash cluster replaced a couple times - fuel level still unreliable. Original C4 rims, tires about 85%+. I can post photos later - just trolling for price point now. Will facilitate local PPI at buyer shop of choice - buyer pays PPI in advance and I get copy of it

Observations:
1. The price seems low.
2. Tiptronic narrows the field of potential buyers.
3. The color narrows the field of potential buyers (black, silver, and gray outsell all other colors).
3. Get the gas gauge problem fixed before you try to sell it.

I have an almost identical car with a 6-speed and wouldn't sell it for $18k. Mine's a '99 C4 with 54k miles and a reman engine and I believe I could get $20-25k for it. I don't think the Tips are worth quite as much but I think you can get more than $18k. It's easier to lower the price than raise it.

Damn Marlon, you go away for 8 months and show up with this?

what's going on? Are you not using it (IIRC you didnt care to commute in it)
$18k is low for your car, but you might end up there, I would start at something more like $22k

GLWTS

Raise the price and GLWTS should you choose to part w/ it. $18k is for a molested P-car, not a well-cared for example. Fix the gauge and start in the low-mid 20's...

The car sits in the garage - I don;'t drive it to work nor do I drive it on the weekends. It will get damaged in the Metro parking building and I am not going to sit in 1hr each-way commuting traffic. I shoot clay targets on the weekend or I'm competing - my SUV is the only way to do that part. and honestly I'm getting a mid-life urge for a C3 (70' - 74') 4-spd soft top Vette' (heresey!).

Anybody got a 70' - 74' C3 4-spd to trade:^)

If your son is having fun with cars you did not go wrong.

First, I think your price is a bit low. You should be able to get $20k for it.

My coworker bought a new vette in 68 (the first year of that body style).

It was a nightmare. It was a 427 and turning on the A/C on 75 degree (and warmer) days was a requirement unless you wanted to get cooked by the motor.

If you are really looking for one of these shoot for a 69-70. These cars are before the enduro front bumper ('73) and have fewer smog devices killing the power.

I'd almost consider dumping my S4 and replacing with that, but I'm probably headed for an SUV

Price is as mentioned, too low for a C4 or a C2 with that low mileage. You're leaving $ on the table.
