I am considering getting a bra for the front of my
It is a 2001 C2 with 62K...nothing fancy...basic black to protect the front end.
It is pretty much a daily driver, and goes out all year 'round (except in snow). Over the last few months, with the increased amount of road work here in CT, I have noticed more, and larger dings in the paint on the spoiler and lower hood. I considered a clear bra, but the paint isn't pristine enough. Generally, I am ok with a little "road character" added the the car, but would like to preserve it for a while longer before having to do a respray.
Here is a link to what I am considering:
http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...Code=POTE996SS
So, my question is...for those that have had them, are there any negative aspects to a vinyl bra...does water get trapped causing issues..does "flapping" cause any problems/wear to the paint? Any other issues?
Thanks!

thanks for the perspective...i was never a big fan of them, and haven't had them on any other cars, but the amount of crap hitting the front end these days is worse than usual...thanks for the idea for the silver ones..looks like a good alternative.

I have never seen a bra besides the clear ones that does not do more damage than good... they all rub and flap .. even the tiniest bit puts marks in the paint.. don't do it.

Just say no to sticking bras, "clear" or otherwise to the front of your car.

Forget the bra and go for the Porsche petina, ie. rock chips that prove you drive your Porsche and use it as it was intended. Ferdinand Porsche would be proud.

I wouldn't even want my car around if it was so expensive or special that a few rock chips would bother me. Being in a position to buy a Porsche is one thing, but being in a position to treat it just like any other car is even better.
