Shop recommendations - St. Augustine, FL?
Hey guys - I'm usually over in the 928 forums, but one of my dad's friends recently aquired a 996 and was wondering if anyone had any shop recommendations for the St. Augustine, FL area. Thanks.

Will he drive to Jacksonville? Here's my indy, honest and meticulous, but not cheap though:

Thanks. Actually a 928 friend of mine recommended him as well. Seth seems to have a very good reputation. I know he'd like to find a local shop to St. Augustine, but I'll pass Technical Dimensions along to him.

I believe there is a couple shops in St Augustine, one on us1 just south of sr 16 and then another on San Marco south of sr 16 ... I have not used either one but the one on San Marco was recommended by a fellow member of the PCA... Sorry I do not know the names of either one... Just curious are you in the WGV?

I have lived here for 40 years and am not aware of any places in St. Augustine that are qualified 996 shops. They might be OK for 4 cyl cars.
Brumos Porsche, Technical Dimensions, Omega Motorsports, all in Jacksonville, are excellent shops for a 996.

Mark - Thanks. I know Brumos has a top notch reputaiton on the later cars. I also know they are pricey so was hoping to find a more affordable route for general service.
I'm not in WGV - I live in Gainesville FL, but my family is from St. Augustine and my dad still lives there.
Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.

Price is besides the issue, all stealerships are pricey.
I have had at least 2 encounters with them, where they just couldn't fix my problems.
The latest being a 4-wheel alignment that they couldn't get done right.
1st attempt alignment was off with car pulling slightly to one side (my steering wheel was straight like it was when I took the car in).
On the 2nd attempt they managed to get the alignment "almost perfect" but my steering wheel was off center.
Went in the 3rd time to straighten the steering wheel, it went slightly off to the opposite side this time, AND the alignment was again less than perfect! I never went back to get it corrected.
That was $300 + tax (discounted price) and my time, down the drain. I would have been better off without the alignment, but I thought since I had a set of new tires and have not had an alignment in a while...
