I did a flush using Castrol Import Multi-Vehicle ATF. It meets the LT71141 requirements.....which is what Porsche recommends. Available at any Kragens, Pep Boys or Autozone.

IDK if I would try it; not that Castrol is an inexpensive brand, it's just that it may not be "spot on" to what the Tips use... I mean, would you use a Chrysler, Ford mercon, GM Dexron, Nissan or Mazda compatible ATF on your Tip?

Before I ran the Redline Universal ATF that met Porsche spec, I used Dexron III because it was an emergency and I needed my car. I tell you what, the clutches seemed to grip better and the shifts felt stronger than the factory fill. After the Redine though, it truly was a slushbox.....

722.6 (02-09 tip of this series) and 722.9 series derived electronic transmissions are in a lot of cars. The old fluid was $15/liter on average, but they recently released a new part number for the newer transmissions, which works with the older ones as well, which in general is cheaper, $7.50/liter on average.

Technically, Benz approves nothing but their own, however the following fluids may work as they are supposed to be formula 3353 (722.9), and 3353 is OK for 722.6 :
Mobil ATF 3353
Shell ATF 3353
Fuchs Titan ATF 3353

At one point Shell claimed that their ATF 3403 M115 would work i 722.6 but again I don't think it's ever been approved

It used to be if you wanted to save a few bucks, you could buy your fluid from a chrysler dealer (tell them you have a 5 speed auto crossfire, which is an old SLK or 300C which is an old E). That stuff is MB fluid branded chrysler, but it really isn't any cheaper, it's just chrysler dealers don't mark up at the parts counter nearly as much as MB dealers in general.

How does this stuff look?

Can be used in most ZF automatic transmissions. Meets G052162A2, Esso LT 71141, Shell LA2634, Texaco ETL 7045.
Pentosin is the OEM Automatic Transmission fluid that most European manufactures recommends for your automatic transmission. Please check your local dealer or manual for applicability of this fluid on your specific transmission.

14 bucks a liter....Can get 20 liters for $280......or 327 becuase it has a porsche part #...gimme a break.

Or OVERKILL..20L $$327

IIRC, I paid $13/liter; I'd go for the Pentosin.
