Default Turbo PSS10 on C4 (1999)...will it work?

Hi All,

I ordered a set of PSS10's for my 1999 C4, but got shipped a different part number than I expected. I expected a: F4-GM5-D535-H0

However, I was shipped a:
F4-GM5-E715-H1
An internet search came up with that part number being for a 996 Turbo.

Since the Turbo is AWD, I thought that I should ask if the F4-GM5-E715-H1 be used on the C4 before trying to send it back, etc.

...does anyone know if these two parts are really "different?"

Thanks!
Douglas

Honestly I have no idea but if they were the same they would have the same part #.

They are definitely not the same. Front springs are different, front and rear dampers are different. Here is a source for the specs that I found awhile ago.

C4: http://www.raceindustry.com/ripartnu...r=no&x=14&y=14

Turbo: http://www.raceindustry.com/ripartnu...r=no&x=14&y=14

This doesn't mean you could not use them, but they are not the right ones. Get the vendor to swap them for the rights ones.

Hope this helps.

seems like the seller might be thinking of a C4S?

Doug-Thanks for those links!

Most are exactly the same, except the rear damper (which is very close) and the front damper (~12% stiffer) and front tender spring (~30% stiffer) are off by 10-15%.

In addition to the data on those links, here are the two “curb weights” that I could find:
2001Turbo Weight: 3395
1999 C4 Weight: 3032

It looks like the Turbo is heavier and stiffer in the front. I guess they could be “made” to work with adjustment. However, it probably make sense to get the right parts since it will only be a matter of days.

Thanks for all the input!
