Very cool.

What's more amazing is it's sunny in the UK!

Great gathering!...
We definitely have to do something about it on the U.S. side.

I know I'll be taking my car to the Rennsport Reunion V event at the end of September. Who else from the 40th Anniversary gang is taking their cars there?.

That might be a great place/time to gather as many as we can.

Default Oil filler tube

Well I found a cracked oil filler tube on my car yesterday, it seems the best way to get it out is to take the throttle body off and the plastic intake piece behind it, it give all the clearance you need to get to the two bolts. What I also found was one of the ears on the filler tube that holds it down was already broken off. Now that I got it all off, hopefully the new one gets here tomorrow.

I did mine last year it very tight but doable, a few DIY's talked about removing the alternator, but its impossible to take of a 40th without removing the whole maifold.

Yeah, thats why I just pulled the throttle body and the plastic intake, gave me the most room I think with being minimally invasive. I just wrapped up a whole lot of projects, I did the clutch, IMS bearing RMS, new water tank reservoir, and the oil filler tube when I finally found that cracked. After all that I think I am going to take it somewhere to get the coolant flushed so that I dont have to screw around getting any air bubbles out.

Get yourself a vacuum filler, they work really well. Used one when I did my water pump, well worth the investment

Hi folks
I helped put the group of 6 together in the UK so would be great to see you guys get more. Remember it needs to also work on the same ratio as we achieved - 123 40ths imported to UK and 6 together. Ted Z can work out how many you need to gather as he is sure to know the number imported to the US. Fair enough???

Nothing like a bit of transatlantic rivalry, chaps! Cheers..Ian (#698)

Probably not as many as you chaps will have to - BUT - our fuel is way more expensive than yours and we have more corners to go round. Algorithm reqd to calculate number cars req required!

Hi Ian,

I like the start of this "transatlantic rivalry"... All for a good cause and great picture potential

So calling all 40th owners to mark their calendars for Sep 25 to 27, 2015 let's gather at Laguna Seca for Rennsport Reunion V... And as far as minimum number of cars are needed, yes we need Ted's assistance to figure out what is 5% of the total of 40th anniversary vehicles imported into the North America market ((US+Mex+Canada) (If you have it of course...).

Let's do this!...

Churny and I would come to represent the UK, but we are both busy those days. Shame really - also problem with my sat nav - doesn't seem to recognise the address and seems to think it might be quite a long way.
