Default 3 simple, 2 beer 911 jobs...

I finally ordered an assortment of odds and ends I needed for my 911, that came in on Thurs. from AutohausAZ. Two new wipers to replace the dry, noisy blades. A new cabin/pollen filter, the one I took out was pretty dirty. Last, a new parking light bulb(driver's side) that has been burnt out since I bought the Porsche in Sept. 06'. In all I'd say a leisurely 2 beer job, and not as hard as an IMS bearing replacement. Next on my list...replace fuel filter, replace the serpentine belt, and clean my MAF, and toss in a new air filter. It still feels good to show my Porsche some love now and then.

Isn't changing the cabin filter like opening the trunk, plus a wee bit?

Yeah it's warmer for us here too. Yesterday was 75.......burrr. I had to wear flip flops. Today I can change the RMS barefoot. I need to find a more temperate climate....

I was talking to the parts guy at Sunset and he said it was raining up there and he wanted to do some work on his cars and bikes.... I told him he didn't want to know what it was like here now. Figured I'd tell you though.

GAWD, I cant believe they use the word "Pleasant" in a forecast!!

I have never seen that! - in Seattle we have 182 ways to say Rainy and Cold...if we had all those sunny things the weather guys would be warning us about the dangers of drying out! - they have to remind people not to look at it even though it's "pretty"

Yea, add one T25 torx screw and a plastic thumb screw. But you still have to pull out the old filter, and put in the new. I recall about 4 sips of beer.

I've been tempted to go to a carbon air filter. Isn't there a difference in hooking up the carbon filter?

The weather here is so tough this weekend
I'm sure some know the same old report they put out here.
Trade winds and maka showers.

Hey - I just did parking light bulbs and a pollen filter in my car too! I didn't think to have a beer while doing it though

The pollen filterthat came out was really grungy. It looked like a carbon filter judging by the colour of the pleats on the "clean" side. They are interchangeable from what I could see.

On the side marker lights...Pelican only sells white bulbs for this application, no orange bulbs. They are pretty bright now. I guess it's ok...I don't really get to see them much because I'm mostly in the car when they are on.

Weather wise we are a lot like Seattle...only a bit colder and wetter. I wouldn't have it any other way myself. Too much sun makes me uncomfortable.

The easier the job, the more beers you should drink. Me thinks..

No difference that I'm aware of. They didn't have the carbon filter for my order.

It is really satisfying working on these cars. Especially after the first 15 minutes and nothing blows up meaning you did it right.

yesterday was about 50 and rained damn near all day - dogs are wet and stink, grass it wet and tall, all the wlks have a muck on them, - I am 43 and born right here, never moved... but I am getting closer to being done with this rain

the aircooled car like it though, I was out in the thick of it and I always said the 996 was "fun to drive oon nice days, and more fun on rotten days" - the 86' does not disapoint in that aspect of a P-car, what a weapon for the foul weather!!
I dont have a cabin air filter either.... how would you get that "special smell" insid ethe car with a filter
