Johnnyreb,
I don't think that ^ is a true statement. There are a lot of guys that like aftermarket wheels. However, most of us are not into the "bling bling" wheels like chrome, Dub, Savini, etc. BBS, HRE, TechArt, Champion, to name a few make a varity of good looking wheels for Porsches.

Ouch! That crasck hurts.
Seeing you are in canada I'm not sure if you live in rural, city or country or the conditions of roads now and in the future. I imagine the spoke placement either on the outside or centered in the rim could make some difference if you are pushing the rims to their limits. If I were looking at old days I'd lean towards a center spoke wheel trying to get the rim to have more available flex to absorb mountain road hard cornering with the once in a while pot hole, wrap the tire on the over hang and such games. For looks we are all lucky there is an intenet which lets us see millions of things out there to grab at. I guess just keep browsing and save the rims you like to a folder for once in a while browsing till the time you finally get the feeling of which rim you figure on keeping.
Me? I'm lazy and sticking with what came on the car till I win the lottery or hit it big in vegas.....hmmm no lottery in hawaii and I don't want to go to vegas.

not a fan of straight barrel wheel... they are weaker in design vs a conical shape barrel. They also have a tendency to trap water or dirt and will vibrate at speed, conical shape barrels dont have this issue since water and dirt will just spill out. They are also very hard to get tires mounted (especially wide ones) since get the tires to seal requires hammering into place. Think of \ / motorsport wheel, is stronger this | |.

why does most of the porsche diehards think if it is not an original porsche wheel, it doesn't look good, i'm actually looking at buying some that r not original, but look way better than the turbo rims i have on! is it if it's not porsche brand it sucks, kind of like if its now air-cooled its not real!

Thanks for all the comments. I thought the ability to customize colour was nice and allowed for a different look. To be honest, I would really like a set of HRE P40s above anything else, but will stick what I have for now - given that said wheels with tires represent 35% of the car's value on the market.
