Default Thinking of new wheel - opinions sought

In the most recent edition of Exellence there was an advertisement for Savini wheels. They have an neat website that let's one customize the look of the wheel. http://www.saviniforged.com/

Here is what I have come up with as potential options for my car. I know the color is not quite right, but would match the Arena red of my car.

Is this cheesy or does it have merit for the car?

These wheels are just yet another brand stamped with rim parts sourced from the same handful of vendors.

Stick with motorsport type brands like Porsche to sports cars.

If you want to see what wheels look good with your color, go to the website WheelEnhancement.com and use their wheel/car color guide.

Sorry, but the Savini wheels don't do it for me. In fact, I would not put any of those wheels on my Honda, let alone a Porsche.

I'd do the SV25s

Center 1 - Gold
Center 2 - Body Color
Rest - Chrome
  1. Would match well with your interior
  2. Gold center would really pop against the chrome lip
  3. Gold center would match the Savini center cap logo

something like this...

All if them have spots for dirt and brake dust to hang in corners. I really like the porsche turbo wheels I've got. Way easy to clean.

I'm not sure if what you are looking at are cast of forged. Forged is the only way to go and by a good manufacturer.

These are forged wheels. However, I just found some pricing and they are up thee with HREs etc. in terms of price.... I like the P40 very much, but for that a price.. Aerokit and RoW MO30 first

I tend to prefer OEM wheels, but I voted for #4. I think that looks sharp.

why does most of the porsche diehards think if it is not an original porsche wheel, it doesn't look good, i'm actually looking at buying some that r not original, but look way better than the turbo rims i have on! is it if it's not porsche brand it sucks, kind of like if its now air-cooled its not real!

Johnnyreb,

I don't think that ^ is a true statement. There are a lot of guys that like aftermarket wheels. However, most of us are not into the "bling bling" wheels like chrome, Dub, Savini, etc. BBS, HRE, TechArt, Champion, to name a few make a varity of good looking wheels for Porsches.

1st choice : suspension
2nd Choice: Aerokit
3rd Choice: Factory or aftermarket BBS wheels
