[QUOTE=philooo;7500469]look fantastic. so what is this process called exactly 'ceramic coating' ? or they have a fancy way of putting it
What was the main motivation behind it ? the color ? or to make sure it doesn't oxidize ? ..
The main motivator was to have a more seamless look to the back bumper area. Prior to that there was a mixture of black, stainless, oxidized stainless, rusted clamps...it looked like "you know what"
Right. This lowers the heat that rises into the engine bay....also make it easier to work on the exhaust area as those parts will not get as hot to the touch.
Thanks Red, no-go for Hershey
Thanks. We're doing the install on jack stands but I will get it to a lift in short order for pic's....diggin' those Fabspeed Tips!
Right. These headers and the X-Pipe (up to the Cat's) are coated inside as well. Should cool the gases for better flow.
Yes I know. Pic's and some cool vid's to follow....

Yes, coated inside and at the header seal....insides are one coat ceramic (grey)...not coated with additional layers of black then gloss as was done to the outside of all pieces.

Dude you've got the best mods!!!
I've got it in silver on the headers of my bike (otherwise you always see the blueing).
But I never thought of using it on a car...
Not to many people know about ceramic coating.
In the bike customizing industry it's common knowledge because we use it on parts that get to hot for powder coating but how on earth did you even find out about it?
VERY COOL!

Don't think so.
It's been a while since I was in that neck of the woods.
But then again, all that sex and drugs and rock&roll has taken it's toll.
Or like Ozzy says, "out of all the things I've lost...I miss my mind the most"!
Cheers,
Sid.
