A friend of mine totalled his almost new Cayman at T'Hill in January. He had to fight with State Farm but they finally paid off, and so far his policy has not been cancelled.

My State Farm agent told me I was covered as long as it was not a timed event. I know a guy who totaled his GT3 and was paid by insurance. All that said, I would read your policy and talk to your agent rather than assume anything based on what you read on the interweb.
