Love that story, you Chevy driver!

One day in Oklahoma I got pulled over by an Oklahoma Highway Patrolman, shortly after I got on I35, a northbound stretch of highway. It was near dusk. I had turned on my fog lights to supplement the low beams because I wasn't familiar with that onramp. In short order I was pulled over and given a warning ticket for (get this!) "Illegal use of fowl (sic) weather lights."

I laughed my head off at that dummy later. I looked it up in the OK statutes and determined that the trooper was wrong. With Porsches in those days you couldn't turn on fog lights without the headlights (low beams) being on. The statue said that in order to use JUST the fogs you had to be in poor lighting (visibility). The cars are wired at the factory to be in compliance.

Dummies.

I believe the cop is between the lines saying since you were catchable you are driving like a camaro. A Porsche truely speeding is way different than a mom and pops camaro. He probably had fun telling his crew about the porsche guy he slurred and insulted calling his car a camaro and the funny look on your face while doing it. They know exactly what a camaro is. You could of been a new entry on youtube for a police chase of a 911 since the only one findable is a drunk guy who crashed on a simple onramp.

Yeah, I was pulled over recently after I had ducked into a parking lot when I saw the guy turn his cruiser around (thanks for flagging him down into the lot you nosey old ladies). Anyway the cop said he had gone past the parking lot and a little bit down the road had seen another car that wasn't me, so he knew I had either pulled in somewhere or had blown by that car and was already gone.

So remember folks, if you see a cop come to get you, floor it! You'll get away!

Some years ago a cop (city) approached me while I was parking, he gave me a ticket for no front plate on my 300ZX. On the ticket he wrote Porsche, when I noticed that I laughed. Not to many days later on the highway a cop (RCMP) pulls me over, he was going the opposite way and pulled through the median to get me for no front plate. Explained I had recently recieved a ticket for no front plate, he asked to look at the ticket, I hand it to him, he walks to the front of the car returns and asked how many cars I own, said just the one, he said well this says Porsche, yes I know I replied, you should dispute this he says, gives me a warning for the plate and away I went. Never did have to pay that one.

The Barnie Fife says I was doing 65 in a 35. Didn't realize until later last night that the posted speed in the area is 45. I thought for a second about 'loosing' him but there are not many cars like mine in these parts. The cops here would have every Booger, Cooter, Daryl, Daryl and his other brother Daryl looking for me. I even was thinking of the 70's movie with Peter Fonda driving thru the orange groves in Florida with the Pooo-lice after him but I remembered that this is the Town where John Dillinger was born for cripes sakes and the locals don't take kindly to criminals. I'm a born and bred Cheesehead Yankee living in an area South of Indianapolis that still thinks the wrong side won the civil war.....no offense to my friends south of the Mason-Dixon line.

I'll show up for court and get it reduced. I'm growing a mullet so I can fit in.

New laws here since this past year, 25 MPH over the legal limit gets your car taken away for a month and fines up to $10,000.00 depending on how much you exceeded the legal limt by. Basically if you are over by the 25MPH you may as well try and outrun them since they are going to take your car anyway!!
Boy I wish we had our heads screwed on right like the German's and their Autobahn!!

You are incapable of making good/safe choices - the govt needs to make them for you (and they have a LOT of people demanding they make more and more for them)

How many people here have the front plate attached? Mine is in the pocket behind the passenger seat. It just doesn't seem aerodynamic. Have not got pinched yet. Knocking on fake laminate wood.

And the plot thickens..........reviewing the ticket tonite, Mr. policeman wrote the make of the car as a CAMARO!!! Also where he said he saw me 'as stated on the ticket' is different from what he verbally told me.

This ain't over yet!

Getting off on whats on the ticket is up to the judge. The guy can say it was you and the license plate identifier is good enough. That's as far as I've seen for judges reasoning. Basicly if they want the money, they are going to get it. You point out one thing wrong and he might point out you signed it and such. My last ticket was $500 with the judge saying "but the citation says"
