I read the rules for the class and it isn'r as bad as F1 with Bernie but step by step a guess a guy could pass the rules. Good luck working on the car.

You mention the car is close to 2800 while the rules state 2850 lbs as the lowest allowed weight. Good luck making friends at te local scales the moving companies use. Used to be $100 per weighing a long time ago in N. Virginia. I guess the best thing to do is have positions for attaching weights so you get to add the required weight where it works best.

I run a 3.6L so the class weight is 3040 with driver, which should put me and my gear right on target, plus we can use 100lbs of ballast. You are correct about placing weight where it works best.

FWIW, based on my results at TWS in a car that's still 150+ lbs too heavy, doesn't have the wing, LSD, or the JRZ's installed, I would say that these cars can run with G & H stock/prepared cars.

At last month's club races at TWS, the 6 fastest Spec Boxsters (225 hp) routinely posted faster laps than the fastest DE cars (997GT3, 997 GT2, Z06, GT-R; all running MPSCs or similar rubber). The racing groups had more cars than the DE groups, so the DE cars were getting more laps without traffic. Just goes to show you that mass, suspension, and brakes are far more important than sheer horsepower.

The Spec 996s will be faster than that. Good stuff!!
