Nope.... the bottom does seem a bit more open..

100 bucks if I remember, grabbed it off ebay.
Looks pretty cool, even if I'm the only one that see's it

did it to my 996 a couple of years ago. It seems more efficient inside but most likely dress up your engine bay. It still uses the 996 or 997 air filter. got mine for $49 at suncoast!!
