Default PSE Hack on 3.4 cans a Success!!

Hi all,

Just finished the PSE hack as outlined here:https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...haust-mod.html

Awesome snarl now but totally not offensive when cruising under light throttle in my neighborhood. Car begs to be reved now. When on the gas it sounds really good. Followed the aforementioned write up and bought the material from the vendor listed. It is such an easy job to do. Even if you don't weld you can take it to a shop and they will d the work and it doesn't cost that much. I'm going out right now to drive through a tunnel so I can rev out in the first couple of gears and hear the sound.

That mod is one of the best you can do to your 996. Great bang (enjoyment) for the buck!

My car idles almost the same as stock if not the same. The delicious snarl only happens on the gas. Of course the more revs the more deliciousness!

find a tunnel or drive between two buildings and you will (should) be surprised how much of the sound is going out the back that is not heard inside the car... it always shocks me... the good kind of shock

Ivangene,

I'm such a teenager at heart that last night after putting the cans back on I went to fill up the car and drove around in a light misting with the top down to get to a tunnel about 20 minutes away and then through said tunnel about six times accelerating full bore through it. It is an intoxicating sound. Reminds me of the in car sounds of 996s tackling the Nurburgring on youtube that i've watched. Way more sound with the top down.

when you did yours did you notice any rattling from the shavings or metals that they removed or grinded down inside the muffler... i did and wasn't too happy because not matter how i shock the muffler it didn't come out.. but once i put them on no rattling and the sound is great.. this mod replaced my fabspeed mufflers that cost 1200 new and it only cost me $100 to do...

The first time I am looking at the MOD. I hate the word HACK..... I dont HACK a car.

So this looks like just a small muffler bypass? I might try that

Is this hands down over Fabspeed cans? Bought these used last year but the drone after I put the Summer's back on is killing me. I think the snows hid the drone over the Winter. Never really noticed it before. Still have my stock cans so I can do the mods. Thoughts?
