Congrats Jim! Bet you're glad the IMS bearing didn't seize up at that moment. Hahahahaha.

Congrats!

I love the photo. I'll have to remember to do that... if I'm alive long enough to get my car to 100K.

Congrats on the 100k @ 100 milestone - at my current pace I'll be able to join you in 12 more years (almost 40k mi and ~5k mi/yr)

Yup - same here... 12 years. Much as I love the car I'm not sure I'll still have it then.

Thanks guys!
I'm planning to hit 200k with this car. It is a semi-DD and has many planned trips.
I was just figuring, if this became a ritual every 10k, at 170k, I'd have 21 sec to get a good pic vs 36 sec @ 100.

Stray animals were more on my mind. Far more damage, plus not much you can do but hit the brakes and pray. I hit a deer years ago with an Audi. Not alot of damage, but crapped all over the side of the car.

Pretty sure it was the deer. It was not the dramatic, crush the front of the car and come through the windshield type of hit. I was going ~75 on a banked curve on the interstate. The small doe came up an embankment and hit the front passenger fender area. I wasn't sure I hit something at first. First depression in the road and I heard the tire scrape the fender and knew something was wrong. Insurance totaled the car, I bought it back, fixed it for $300 and drove it for another 30k.

What a great thread 15psi. I don't know if my MY99 will ever hit 100k miles, but wed am heading up to the White Mtns. I did 106 mph (I think my speedo is 5 mph high) shortly before Lincoln...at 48,643 mi.

I still have 30K miles to go to reach 100K in the Orient Express, but here is the gratuitous 100K shot from my wife's audi:
