Also, my car came with full leather everywhere and red stitching everywhere... except for the steering wheel and shifter boot. So, I corrected that with a bid on Ebay.

I know the steering wheel and shifter look gray in the photos but I assure they are dark black like everything else... sunrise ar Roebling Road cause the effect.
I love the red stitching. I just had my steering wheel redone with thicker padding and red stitching. I guess I have a few other items to redo in red stitching.

hey guys,

I'm considering this 997 Tech Art GT street (knock off) rear bumper (made to fit 996 wide-body).
This would be the silver one except I would go with the 3 dimensional cupped air vents and matching 997 tips as seen on the orange car instead of the mesh and 996 turbo tips as seen on the silver one.

What do you guys think of this bumper?!

Cheers,

Sid.

996 Track Car in my Sig. It's still road registered - but barely.

There are better looking bumpers than that Techart, BTW. IMO

Funnyyyyy!!!!

But as it so happens... I came across a highly technical way to help you with just such a custom project !

I would dare to say I'm concidered somewhat of a pro at this particular technique... so ofcourse it would be my pleasure to give you a hand

Regarding the rear bumper, you have any pics of the one you would suggest?
Remember it has to fit on a 996 (wide-body) though.

Cheers!

Sid.

The one you have is bad ***, IMO. The Techart pictured is too bulky for my taste.

Hey guys, well I guess most of you are out driving your P's rather than customizing it...

I found some down time to fit a turbo decklid with larger carbon wing to my C4S.
(still have to put the "carrera 4S lettering on it though)

Was told that it couldn't be done...
I did do it but man... that's A CRAP LOAD OF WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No kidding!

That said, I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out!

Cheers.

I like the look.....but why not just get a Turbo. The only thing the car is missing is the Turbo.

I like those black Carrera 4s mats... Do you know where I can get a set? Would be interested in a different colour though!

Yep, I spend over 30K on custom work with this ride, could have bought a 997 turbo

But that's a slippery slope...at the time I almost bought a silver turbo (not the color I wanted though) could not find a black cabrio TT, plus I had to beg and grovel with a judge to keep my licence
So it all seemed like a convergence of element guiding me in a different direction... (probably why I'm over compensating in custom work).
Love the ride of the turbo TOO MUCH...

That said, I absolutely LOVE my customized C4S, she is now my favorite ride (I think my other girls are getting a bit jealous ).

Also, with the 997 GT2 front end, the Techart GT street side skirts, headlight masks, blacked out taillight, red int. ect. this ride is now exactly the way I wanted it, totaly Frankensteined with a little bit of everything.
Mean and sexy!

And I still have my license (for now).

Thanks Rich!

Of course you had to ask that question...the answer is no.
Thats why I went with the larger carbon race wing, you can have it hooked up to the hydraulics but for track use most have it as a fixed wing (are buying it? ).

Real reason for not installing TT Hydraulics is that's it's a crazy job!!!!
Need to replace EVERYTHING (airbox, air intakes, fan, etc. etc.) not worth it $$$

As it was it's already a BIG job that you need a lot of imagination for not to mention a mechanic with good knowledge of the P. computers and hardware!

I'll do write up on it later, with cool tricks to fool the computer and lots of bracket and panel fabrication... Also found a new use for vaseline

Cheers,

Sid.

Ps. thanks for the info on those chrome light bulbs, they really make a HUGE difference!
