9HRS OF LABOR??????????????????????????????? Took me 3hrs and that was with breaks. I did it two days ago...its a major pain to do but isnt something that bad.....Id definately question 9hrs of labor....you are getting hosed!!

Auto trans?

I have not changed mounts, but I have taken them off, let's see 4 minutes, 2 hours for the tank - 7 hours for trans leak? Are they taking it out ? Naw, that's only 2 hour job????

I haven't had multiple jobs done by a porsche dealer. I do know most shops just look up the time involved for each individual job on the car. Then they add the time of labor from the job to each section of the repairs. You end up paying for all the labors at the least even if one jobs labor reduces the time for the rest of the jobs. You'll get billed for additional labor time for sure but wont get billed less if they don't take as much time. Money money money. Porsche dealers of course I've heard some say don't do that. I imagine all of them aren't that sensible.

emdog agreed.
Pac996 very true. When they say "while we're in there..." I assume that means less labor cost. No that means less time spent.
Warranty $50 labor X9 hours= $450
Replace coolant tank, normal hourly labor and parts= $450 (approx.).
Lesson learned= Priceless.
Owning a Porsche is a constant learning experience.

well, no, it's not 9 hours to replace just he coolant tank, it's 9 hours to repair the transmission leak, replace coolant tank, and change out two engine mounts. I talked to the service guy and he said he was going to try and get my labor rate down to $125 -$130, so at that rate I will only be spending $210. $135 for labor and $75 deductible, not too bad for all the items that are going to be fixed. He originally told me that the tank was a 4 hour job, so I guess that means 3 hours for transmission and 2 hours for engine mounts?? who knows I just want my car back, I'm sick of driving this prius.
