Opening Wiper delay switch
Anybody know how to open the wiper delay switch to get to the LED. If you take the back off the switch the LED is not in that location. Didn't want to force the **** off, unless that what you have to do. Anybody done this?
Only reason I'm in there is the previous owner installed the blue led light conversion on all the instruments and Hvac controls after they started to go out one at a time. Not something I would have done maybe, but it does look better than the amber. He left all the switches to do. A 2 year old could replace the leds in the Defrost and Power lock switch. So all Ive got left is the wiper, sunroof and lightswitch. What about the cigarette lighter, is it an led or normal bulb?
If you look in the 99 dealer brochure you can see that even Porsche didn't know what color they were going to be, everything is amber and then in vivid green the HVAC controls are pictured.

Well the answer is it's a pain. I did it and this is how. You do remove the rear cover.
You must remove the circuit board to get to it. It is held in place by 2 melted plastic rivets, and two soldered lines that go into the **** itself.
Once you have the circuit board off just desolder the led. You can in fact use the little leds provided right on the circuit board. It's not as perfect a fit as it is on the HVAC controls or switches, it's spaced a little closer. However it will work and it solders right to the board. Negative seems to be on the right if looking from above.
On a scale of hardness this is a 9.5 for the diy. Only because there is no room to work with the gun so you don't burn plastic, you have to align the led perfectly, and you must be able to desolder two pins. So if you know any pro solderers I would hand it off to them.
Now all I have left is the Light switch, it has 9 leds I think, you only need to change 5 I think since the others are for the fog lights and such.

This is a pic from my cell phone driving down the road the day I got it just to prove it, so I will take more since you can't even see the gauges. Anyway I don't need all kinds of comments as I said the cluster and HVAC were already done and I'm just finishing the job.
I do think it looks better with the factory silver gauges however than the amber. But I never would have done this to my own car I don't think. Even though it is a dead match to Alpines current blue.

Here is inside the headlight switch (Cover) as Porsche calls it. These Leds are pretty easy to swap, you only swap the 5 on the top. The other 4 tell you when the fogs are on so I left them alone. I just cut the top off the led, bent the tabs over and soldered the flat leds to these tabs.
