Magnetic oil drain plug

Should you really have shavings on it all the time? I would think at some point things run in enough to where you no longer have this. My old Triumph tr8 had a magnetic plug and it rarely had anything on it. And that was my first car as a teen, The oil didnt get changed that often.
I just put the mag plug in my car. I cant wait for 3000 miles to see what it looks like.

I don't know if this will work, for the tranny

I have a filtermag on my SUV, since it's a spin on filter.

If I remember correctly, my old MGB's and A-H 3000 had such large tolerences any contaminants blew right out the exhaust.........

LOL, maybe. The engine in the TR was great, the tranny and rear end was antoher stroy. I think I wrecked one tranny and 3 rears. But I wasnt exactly easy on it either. When you let a kid buy a go-cart with a v8 in it, Things are just going to get broken

So I did my first oil change just over a week ago ..
I got a bit worried because I read here on the boards to change the oil every 5,000 miles ritualistically and I was just about to roll 6k!
The Horror, the horror!
Removing the plastic OEM filter housing
OEM paper filter
Installed the LN Engineering Spin-on Oil Filter adapter kit
Filter-Mag was perfectly sized (I guesstimated the diameter of the can)
Bigfoot Magnetic Drain Plug
And precisely 10 quarts of oil (9+ 1 for the filter) ..
Checked the air pressure and GTG!
Today I got my report back from Blackstone (in less than a week via USPS)!!
I also wish to thank 'medtech' for his valuable insight.
Cheers mate! There's be a Pint of cold Beer heading your way ..

I've had the L&N on my 911 and it definitely works. Each oil change pulls out a small amount of iron shavings.
In fact I plan on buying 2 for the next oil change on the cayenne.
And if you really want some clean oil you can order their spin-on filter adapter, use a Mobil 1 filter and slap a Filtermag on it.
