Anyone had experience with an Audi RS4?
After 10 years of owning my 996 and with the kids getting a little too big to squeeze into the back seats, I am getting the itch to get something new with 4 doors and a little more room (the panamera doesn't do much for me). I've been looking at Audi and like their styling. I love the look of the RS4 and with 420hp it would be faster than my car. Anyone have any experiece owning one? I'm looking for good or bad. Thanks guys. Scott
ps. if anyone is looking for a really clean 2000 C2 coupe let me know. Silver with black leather. 35K miles. Don't know what it is worth. Haven't thought that far in advance. Scott

The RS4 is about the same in straight line speed as a 3.6 Carrera. Negligible. The 996 handles, brakes, and outright feels much better. Noticeable.
It's a small, heavy four door with the engine pushed way out front. I owned one a couple of years ago and it got boring quick, but I don't have a family to accommodate so you may actually take advantage of its practical nature.
They're known to have some suspension issues and tend to eat some oil, but it's not something to cause alarm kind of like RMS.
Good luck.

Very little aftermarket for the car.....the motor is very reliable but is high strung. They are as fast as the comparable year M3, but with the awd did a bit better around the track. Youd get bored with it if your like me.....brakes and handling are better on the Porsche. I had an S4 with rs4 bits on it....was fun but was a bit boring...engine sounded great..what a growl.
Keep the 996 and get an S4 avant. DONE.

Interesting feedback. I was also thinking about the RS4, love the low key overall shape but never drove one. I am pretty sure is it also a more comfortable ride than the 996. Perhaps the reason why the drive gets a little boaring after a while.

The car does handle really well for what it is. My ride was fun and short. about 1/2 hour later, one of the RS4 drivers got a little to overzealous on the final turn and put the rear end into the concrete barracade. And then there were 3......
