Before going further go ahead and park the engine at #1 cylinder TDC and lock it there.. Thats the position where all the IMS work will be done. If you forget to do this the cam timing will be compromised as soon as the IMS flange is pulled.

Shark, I'm following along w/ you. Thx for taking the time to document your progress. This is much better entertainment than Friday night TV. And to think I wasted an 1/2 hour watching ultimate bathrooms on the DIY channel.

Hey Jake. Learning a lot from you. Appreciate your support on this forum. - Doug

Jake, I know you are selling IMS upgrades and stand to profit from your interaction, but in my opinion, your support is amazing on this forum and I applaud you for your interest and backup while Shark Attack is doing this in his garage.+1 in my book.

Ok back at it today. I am going to have to leave for a while and go get my parts from the office and pick up a tranny jack.

Anyway, The Clutch slaved kicked my ***. If I had to do it again, it would be no issue. But you are almost doing it blind unless you are on a lift.

The slave is perched at about 1 oclock on the tranny and you get to it from the drivers side.
its a 13mm, you will need an 8" ext and swivel universal and a 4" ext

The top bolt is best removed with the socket, swivel and 8" ext. in that order
The bottom, you will have to carefully bend the line out of the way. The bolt is right behind the line. I carefully bent mine up and when underneith with the socket and 4" ext. after it is loose... Some fancy foot work gets it out of there and you can lay it on the rear suspention.

The bolts are located one above the other and the bolts face the 3 oclock position.

Ok I have to pop off my shift linkage then run for parts and tools

Ok trans is ready to come down. I have to go get my goods.

Jake, If you are here. How long do I need to cut that dowl rod? Will putting any bends in it make it easier?
