Ok quick update.
I bought the LED bulbs and it isn't bright enough. I put in amber 5W bulbs and behind the clear side markers it looks very crisp and bright at night.

I am very happy that this thread generated such interesting pictures :-)

A Philips 5W 2827 bulb that I had left over from a buy I did of a whole bunch of bulbs from Powerbulbs that UK based online store over a year ago for my other cars...

I don't think they carry it anymore though :-(
