do all 996's suffer rms leakage?

DreamCarrera... Get your facts straight, I hate when people talk statistics without knowing the facts. You are actually amongst the lucky 0.0000001%, NOT 0.0009%... Lol, just messing with you.

Lol! That's one of my daily prayers, bro. No, seriously. I'm a Christian dude and have no qualms praying that my car doesn't self destruct.
As to RMS, for what it's worth, I've got a 2001 C4 with it's original RMS and still no leaks. Rock on Yellow Wonder! God, please keep her running strong!

God works in mysterious ways (and not so mysterious ways too! ) I'm definitely an LN Engg fan!
Man, I SOOOO want to take one of Jake's classes on rebuilding the M96. I'm thinking of giving myself a present and flying me out to his shop, setting up in a hotel for a couple days, and taking his class as a vacation. That'd be a cool vacation. I'd take that instead of Maui any day.
BTW, rxjohn, looking at your avitar, did you go to USC? That's where I went to graduate school. Rock on, brother.

Back to the OP.
My local dealer charges $300 for PPI.
RMS is no big deal. It's a gasket. Keep in mind that there is an art to putting on gaskets, and that may explain why some need replacing more than once.

Are you being paid by LN? Maybe some disclosures are in order here. “God sent us LN” - REALLY?[searching for the throw-up icon]
BTW, what will the failure rate be on the LN bearing? Anyone? Apparently rxjohn believes the failure rate will be zero because it was engineered with the help of divine intervention.
I feel Rennlist should change the title of this board from “996” to “Random IMS(RMS) Discussions”. Moderators are you listening?
Let’s see - Rennlist’s scientific poll shows about 30 IMS failures from a total of ~130,000 cars built.
Quick someone call the New York Times!!!
I sympathize with those who have experienced the failure, but enough is enough.

I have drugs for nausea if you'd like. No, I have no personal interest in LN Engineering other than I'm going to get an IMS upgrade done.
Evidently you lack sense of humor. But that being said, Jake Raby said no failures yet I believe.
Whatever you'd like.
You fail at science. Because there aren't 130,000 car owner responding to the poll.
You should.
I don't think it's enough. I became aware of the IMS failure post my first P-Car purchase. I purchased a Cab fully knowing I'd get an upgrade.

Perhaps it's you that lacks a sense of humor. My "scientific poll" comment was obviously my usual poor attempt at humor. Of course not all 996 owners responded to the poll. That is the exact point of many on here.
BTW, I double checked the poll and there were 22 owners who reported having IMS failure, not the 30 that I previously stated. Who knows how many of these engine failures were blamed on the IMS but were actually something else.
Again, 130,000 996s produced vs. 22 Rennlist reported failures. If the actual number of failures was anywhere close to the 10% that some claim, the number reported in the RL poll would be well into the hundreds or thousands. JMHO , and no I am not a statistician.
