Hi guys.
I bought my 00 C2 6sp last year when it has 52K miles, it now has 58k miles. The previous owner told me that the car has new engine and clutch put in by Rusnak Porsche dealer in Pasadena, CA in 2007 when the car had about 47K miles. I then called Rusnak and asked what parts are new with the new engine and they told me everything on the engine are new except the air conditioning compressor. Sounds good right?
My question is does this new engine still have RMS issue like the early years 99-01 or Porsche has took care of the RMS design issue on new engine?
Thanks.

My understanding is that you can still have RMS issues on a new engine.
However, the latest version of the RMS appears to be holding up well, I would imagine you have the latest version.
I had my RMS replaced at 74K miles, and it is still dry at 87K.

I think the RMS issues really peaked at the end of 2006; you can see that by the amount of posts back then compared to now. The new seals have greatly reduced the leaking problems of the past. Mine had 2 RMS replacements in it's first 40,000 kms and it's been dry now for 3 years/49,000 kms.

I had the engine replaced and up until now no issues with leaks. The new engine has about 6K miles. My GT3 had a leak and was easily fixed by using another seal.

No, I don't have RMS issue with my car. The engine still dry and clean. I am just curious about the RMS. I was wondering my new engine was installeed in late 2007 but don't when it was assembled in Germany. Can we tell by decoding its serial number?
