Default Coolant leak question -- what is this part called

My 1999 3.4L has a coolant leak from a black box on the engine that is not easily accessible. I can see where the leak is, but can't identify the part. The indy said he may have to pull the engine to get to it. Any thoughts what the black box is? I have a diagram of hoses, but this part is not showing.

I don't appear to have oil/coolant mix, just a coolant leak. Any help would be appreciated. I do not have a picture available at this time.

The ony thing I can think of that is a "black Box" that is inaccessible, and has coolant is the AOS. On 996's there is coolant that runs through the AOS. It can be removed without dropping the engine, but the time estimate is 10-12 hours. All the intake, etc. has to be taken off and it is still hard to get at. It is almost quicker to drop the engine.

get a second opinion, the intake can be removed and access to that area is not too bad.. I dont know how quickly the motor comes out. Sounds like someone trying to sell labor
