cats-catalytic converters interchanging years
Trying to find out if year 2000 3.4 cats will fit on 2002 3.6..I tried calling and seems know one really knows. They are different part numbers but pipe sizes are the same dia and seems the only difference is that the 3.6 pipe coming from the cat to the muffler may have been shorter because of the larger 3.6 mufflers. Anyone tried

Hopefully this helps..
My car is 1999. I swapped in a 3.6 engine from a 2003. Everything else stayed the same. So definitively yes you can interchange. The headers also are interchangeable on all 996 C2, C4 and C4s (non turbo, non gt3) from 1999 to the end of the run and then also the 997 S and non S as well.
To show you even further interchange. I current have cat bypass pipes from a 2004 GT3 so even those cat's should interchange too.
