Question X51 Oil Pan Install; Prep Question

How long after you install the new pan with the sealant should one wait before re-introducing oil to the pan? The set time for the sealant? ~2hrs

Link to spec on sealant; pdf

I waited overnight. This is one of those mods that will stay on my car.

Got it at Suncoast

Not positive on the DIY, but I should have some pictures; pretty straightforward I think. I could not find any specifics in any of the TSBs, so I asked Loren a couple questions, and I have the torque values for the bolts.
  1. start the oil drain on Friday afternoon
  2. remove pan Saturday morning
  3. prep both surfaces for sealant
  4. mount new pan; torque to spec
  5. let it set overnight
  6. add oil on Sunday

Pretty cheap insurance that's for sure. For 4-5 DE days per year, is this highly recommended when using street tires? I may consider one too.

'..' highly recommended'? Subjective question, but obviously I think so, and I am still on street tires
