New -- they are $995.00 here in Australia -- ouch!!!
I am buying one -- to be fitted next week -- its now called a Becker Grand Prix.
So I will have a CDR that's broken for sale. Yeah I know, you would like to help me out but the shipping is a bit far.

Yikes! That's absurd money for one of these things...in the states used ones in good shape go for a fraction of that!

i sold mine a few weeks ago, put in an aftermarket kenwood, looks better and sounds better

Yes the ebay option did cross my mind -- also thought of asking here -- as per this thread -- but the radio "bands" are a little different here in oz so a US spec radio will not work (I hope that's right and I have not fallen for urban myth)
Also the new Becker has got better internals -- or so the Oz sales agent tells me (as he would do) -- also has an ipod and a bluetooth connect -- and still looks almost the same (all black and same yellow light) -- so for me who can't tell rock from country (seriously) it's not about the quality of the music but is about being able to get clear radio news and bushfire alerts when I'm out travelling as I do several times a week through forested areas where it's often and hour or two between towns where you can get caught up in wildfires -- it's really important (179 people killed in one day very close to us earlier this year).
And the bluetooth is now very important -- new laws here in Victoria -- it you TOUCH your mobile phone or even have it sitting on your lap (same with GPS --not even legal to touch it whilst moving) you cop a fine (about $200) and lose 3 points -- 12 points = loss of licence.
