Has anyone used a mount for their iPhone?

I got the $20 iPod suction cup system from the Apple Store. It came with more than one phone mount depending on the version you have. I took out my CD Holder cubby out and ripped out the CD part. I then glued one of the phone holders I wasn't going to use to the back of the cubby insert and ran the shaft back through to the front and secured the proper mount to the front side and stuck the assembly back in. I then took the suction cup aand all left over parts and tossed them in the garbage. It works great for music, maps and Harry's Lap Timer ($6).

I was wondering if anyone ahs experience with a good iphone mount ?
I want to purhase this one:
http://www.amazon.com/FlexPod-Premiu.../dp/B002U48N7G
But I wonder if it is a waste of money to use those 'snake' mounts, as the Porsche suspension produce a good amount of shaking.
If anyone wants to praise their iphone/ipod holder, that would be great.

I bought the ProClip mounting system. Attaches (very sturdy) to the passenger side front console. Very nice product, matches my black interior without being too distracting.
Some people complain that your hand may bump against it when shifting into 5th gear, but I have had no such problem.
I like it a lot. Not necessarily the best position to be looking back and forth at it, but that's not why I got it. It's sturdy enought to operate the touch screen while connected. Easy to remove in and out, and no permanent changes to your car. Check it out. Google ProClip mount. Select your p-car year and model, then pick the iphone adapter piece (I got the adjustable one with swivel)

has anyone tried to make a nice integration in place of the climate control unit, in panoramic position ?
I mean relocation the climate control in the lower position and use the top position for a nice ipod mount. that would be cool. even if everything would be tilted ;D Lol
hopefully iphone will soon come with a tilt lock like there is on the new iPad
something cool like that:

philoo, I would buy that in a second. I got my in-dash nav at the same time as an iPhone and was pretty annoyed at how much better the iPhone is for routing and traffic.
Somebody needs to make a big double-din in-dash touchscreen front end for the iPhone, so that when the iPhone is plugged in, you can control it completely in landscape mode from the head unit.

apparently the new iphone 4.0 software will allow for more landscape mode stuff

I don't know what it would take to get it nicely integrated though.. I have not seen any nice molding that could be retrofited in the dash so far the main problem is to be able to take it in and out easily.

I think the iPhone is too small to use at arms length in the dash. Need a bigger screen.
I could see mounting it on a stalk so it's at steering wheel level. Might run afoul of all the local cell phone and anti-texting laws, to be using it in traffic, though.

I see the iphone install more like a GPS install, but instead of having multiple device this way you can have all in one, and may be able to place calls with the speakerphone...

I used a RAM mount on a PanaVise pedestal.
RAM mount here
I had to modify the mount slightly to attach it to the pedestal.

I have had problems with the flexible neck style mounts. If your cars are anything light mine, if you run over a cigarette butt on the highway, you need to visit a dentist to get your fillings put back in your teeth. These type mounts prove to move around on every bump, eventually ending up facing the floor board. Maybe I need to shy away from buying cheap mounts...but the solid arm style mounts look strurdy enough.
Im also thinking about fabricating a true dock into the dashboard but also envisioning the day that Apple changes the cable on all there phones
