Porsche 911 Buyer's guide
Hello, I'm new to the forum. I would like to buy my dream car (911 Coupe) 2000 newer in a few month and I would like to know what is the best BUYERS GUIDE BOOK available out there?
I just want to learn more about the car, potential problems, what to look for, what to avoid. In other words a very complete and informative book.
I'm looking at this one but not sure after reading the reviews
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...X0DER&v=glance
Thanks in advance.

Excellence (www.excellence-mag.com IIRC) runs yearly buyer guides on various Porsches, 996 and 997 models of course included.
Total 911 (UK published Porsche mag) has run several. Pick up copy of mag at newstand and look at back issues for sale or even buyer guide reprints.
911 & Porsche and GT Porsche mags (both UK published) run probably annual 996/997 buyer guides.
imho, all of the above contain lots of good info. For a few dollars you should pick up all and really do your reading to learn about these cars.
Sincerely,
Macster.

Wow guys, thanks for the quick replies. I just read the information and reviews about this book Porsche 996 The Essential Companion: Supreme Porsche and I'll be ordering it today.
On the descriptions and on the reviews I didn't see anyone mentioning that works also as a buyers guide. Does some one know a good buyers guide for the 996?
BTW the link provided for the buyers guide from this website is awesome too.
Thanks again to everyone for your help
I want to be able to make a great decision when I buy my first Porsche. I'm a diy'er and I like to take my time and prepare when purchasing something expensive. I have boats and had a BMW M3 and did all the same.
Thanks again guys.
