Default Silicone Radiator Hose Kit

Would there be any interest in a silicone radiator hose kit for your 996's? We searched, but couldn't find anything currently available. Could be red, blue or black. Maybe we didn't look hard enough and someone already has one.

Thoughts or comments appreciated.

What would be a benefit of using silicne hoses...better 'flow' characteristics? I'm aware of improvements regarding intake and intercooler hoses being replaced with silicone hoses...

They are more durable according to the manufacturers. IE.. less chance of bursting one and they are supposed to have a longer service life.

I was thinking awhile back to get a whole new hose kit; my car is going on 9 years old and I don't want a burst (considering the number of hoses, the chances increase for it happening). But it's pretty expensive for OEM parts. Figured I might just have to take my chances.

I'd be interested, as long as it's priced right.

Yes, I would be interested. I looked high and low and found nothing.

I ended up replacing some of my hoses, but it would be nice to have a "kit" and be sure that they are all new.

Keep us posted if you are going through with it....

Mike--I have a buddy who needs a hose with perhaps an internal wire or something to keep it from collapsing. It's part of the supercharger kit on his 997C4S.

There have been some sets floating around on Ebay for awhile now. Here is one currently listed.

I think there was one other source on ebay in the last month. Don't know anything about the supplier. Maybe someone wants to give them a shot and let us know.

Here was the other one I saw.

Our sample set is on the way to us. I think we will be in the $200-225 price range. Anybody
want to try a blue set on for size?

I might be, Mike. Few questions:
Warranty?
Will any blow-apart drawings be provided to show where each of them go?
Any special tips needed for refilling and burping the system?
Do you sell P radiator coolant or will an off the shelf brand work just as well?
What do you recommend for the clamps? Re-use stock, replace with new stock, hardware store wormclamps,...?
PM sent with my email address. Well, no guess not. You're not accepting PMs. Send one my way then.
Thx

I would be interested in a set also... Any estimate on the man hours required to make the switch? And what type of clamps will be used? Thx....
