Well, I thought I'd make it to the first of November before I put on the snow tires..
I think I am going to put them on this weekend. We don't have snow in the immediate forecast, but the low temperature at night is dipping into the 20s. We're getting to the time of year when it could snow.
I've been looking forward to seeing the C4S with the new wheels, but I was really hoping to keep the summer tires on a little longer.
When do most people here (the ones crazy enough to drive their 996 all year) switch to snows?
Thanks,

I agree - I've been driving with the windows and sunroof open quite a bit here too. The trees are changing and the air is cool and crisp. My main concern is getting caught with an inch or two of snow on the ground with my summer tires on.
It happened to me a few years ago in my Saab 9-5 Aero with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires. The drive home was white-knuckled, to say the least.

I usually wait till after Thanksgiving to put the winter wheels on. Hope this winter is a mild as last winter, but judging by how cold it's been in the morning, I'm starting to worry!

Snow here in MN too. WAY too early for us to be getting snow.
Anyway, I switch to snows around Thanksgiving. We are supposed to warm up a little next week.

I'm usually good until late November... if it's a cold morning I just take it easy until the tires warm up.
I expect my car to be off the road by the first week of December, then back out again by the first week of March.
Usually we have some nice warm days in December and January when I can drive the odd day here and there, but the car is pretty much off the road in January and February.

We frequently get snow in northern Indiana in November, so there's no way I'm going to make it until Thanksgiving. Our last winter was very snowy, so I'm not sure what to expect this year. It has certainly been cold already.

I'm an early riser for work so when I see temps in the 40's during my morning and evening drives I make the switch. I actually switched today just because it was easier for calander reasons. I hate my winter wheels. I need to find something else.
