Default my new 40th with pics

I abide by the rules...couldn't let dad have all the 911 fun anymore so I picked up a 40th on Saturday. Took some pictures before I headed back to FL.

It has 44k miles but short of a few rock chips I can't detect a bit of wear anywhere on the car. I can still smell the cosmoline burning off when I get it warmed up good (something I'm thinking it didn't get done to it very often with its first owner).

I changed the oil today because I didn't know what was in it or how long it had been in there...the underside is likewise immaculate.

0396! It has nav but alas the seats are the basic seats with heaters. I like them more than when I first got the car (I didn't get sore after a 500 mile trip) but I do wish I had some gt silver-backed sport seats...oh well.

Nice looking pars!

Kill the pumpkins! Make sure you dispose of them in separate bags, because if they are left together, they multiply!

Nice - Dad's car is sweet too!!

pumpkins = kill
also pick up some silver bulbs for the sides and blinkers, very subtle but worth while, then just drive it

I'm in the minority, I know, but I vote for keeping the car stock. Words like "preservation" and "original" may not mean much to you now, but as our cars age, part of their appeal (and value) comes from how much they have retained their original specification as they came from the factory.

VGM, I agree, especially with a special car like the 40 jahre. I'll do the pumpkins because you can always just snap the originals back in and with the rest of the car being silver the orange just looks out of whack.

Thanks for the compliments, guys! My dad's car is a lot of fun but he is envious of my wheels.

Nice car! And nice house! Is that a BMW M3 in the lovely garage?

As a side note, I would love 997 door pulls on my 996! I can't stand the "flaps" on my doors.

I dont think removing the pumkins makes the car any less original. Its like taking off the dealer license plate frame....not really a modification and it can be put back in under 3 minutes...... keep the stock ones in the garage (along with the stock shocks, mufflers, shifter, wheels, sway bars and seats )
