The startup graphic was posted on avic411.com--a great resource, btw--by a 997 owner. I'm planning a C4S variation. The bypass instructions are there too.

The startup wall paper shows the Kenwood logo. You can't change that, that is the only time I would want the Porsche logo to appear.

I did the $179 kit from euromotorspeed.com (also on ebay). Can't speak to CF. The bezel was the best part about the kit. Otherwise, the wiring was not appropriate and the cage needed me to figure out and fabricate supports. The instructions were for a Boxster and they really didn't prepare for the combination of 2002 + Bose (both of which are major variables from old Boxster). See renntech.org for details.

I have 02 w/ Bose.
Any tips / tricks you can share?
Thanks

Thanks .
The black harness that came with the ebay kit has 4 pairs of extra wires - white and grey. I assume I should connect those to the AVIC speaker wires right?
Also I assume I ignore the RCA jacks from the HU?
And finally the orange plastic harness/connector that came with ebay kit - do I keep that? Thanks

Drifting
I did too, it looks and works great (AVIC-x710bt). I also got the unit that makes the steering wheel buttons work.

What AVIC model is this? It looks great! I wanted something that would work well and fit in my '01 w/out Bose; this might be the ticket! Coooool!

Yes - the yellow one...I think I still have to splice the one wire to the "REMOTE CONTROL" wire on the Avic.
But I have a question on the black harness that came with the ebay kit.
There are 2 wires marked LEFT FRONT and 2 wires marked RIGHT FRONT.
The AVIC has markings on the wire for left front, left rear and right front, right rear. Which ones go where without having me do a trial and error wiring?
Thanks

On the brown plug that goes to the amp:
pin 1 - brown - RR+
pin 2 - brown/blue - RR-
pin 3 - red - FR+
pin 4 - red/brown - FR-
pin 5 - yellow - FL+
pin 6 - yellow/brown - FL-
pin 7 - white - RL+
pin 8 - white/brown - RL-
Match up the pins on the black harness plug to the above.
