Make sure your buying the real think - which this is. I got ripped off on eBay and got a substandard POS that had a link to the Fabspeed website. I let Joe at Fabspeed know about it so he can sick the lawyers on these guys.

Is that suppose to be better then a stock one. Only thing I see is that it is red, why $200?

While mine is not a Fabspeed and the fit isn't perfect - I do notice that the throttle pick up is a lot sharper then stock. The little cap you see in the photo covers up a bypass tube that from what others say, reduces the sound level on WFO throttle postion and because of the secondary air draw in this tube it does create more turbulence upstream of the intake which affects airflow.

The other thing is that the insides of these silicon tubes are very smooth which should aid in airflow and this part is a little wider then the stock part which is corugated plastic and an inch dia (my est) smaller then these tubes. I can't tell if there are any HP advantages (some say yes - some no) but the pick-up and the better 'noise' make it worthwhile as long as you buy 'orginal'. The Fabspeed part is $225US and fits a lot better then mine. I had to trim mine to fit but the radius is still too tight but I can live with it for now.

I guess this part is the cheaper way to go and still retain the stock airbox and airfilter instead of going for a complete make over with the cone airfiter and intake runners which I think is north of $500. I've read a lot about the K&N part and the issues with the hot wire so I decided to stay away until the jury is out on that one. I just bought too cheaply and was conned by the link to Fabspeed's page that these crooks put on their eBay ad.

do you need to mod anything or is it a direct "plug-n-play"?
does it alter the tone of the motor on WOT / idle / mid range ?
Thanks

I just bought a Schnell one from eBay for about $100. It looks exactly like the Fabspeed one. I must say that I was surprised by the high quality, and for $100 it is cheap enough to try. Really it is just a silicone tube, so does it really matter who makes it?

Installation was about 5 mins. So far it does seem to sound a little better, and response does seem to be improved. Not bad for $100.

Stay away from a company on eBay called 'coastguard1975' - they are knock off kings with poor quaility who rip off Fabspeed with links of the install of the REAL part and photo's of the real part - not their parts.

It was not them. I ordered mine through Vertex Auto directly on eBay. It is a Schnell Cold Air for about $100.

Yeah, it's just a plug and play deal...easy installation. Provides better flow than stock. I just listed on ebay, so if you want to bid, it may be cheaper than $100. I have no reserve on it. Just want to move it...it's just taking up space in the garage. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...STRK:MESELX:IT

You might want to snap a pic or confirm that the "plug" portion of the kit is included.
