I had a friend that bumped into my Nissan Pathfinder, he put a quarter size hole in the lower right corner, I told him that I'll wait till someone rear ends me, and have insurance fix it,that took 4 years, before someone rear ended me, in the Pathfinder, I was the 3rd vehicle, I was stopped nad the person behind me got sandwiched, only scratched the bumper, but the body shop fixed the hole for free. But my friend who hit my car, will never drive my Porsche.

Question - how do you remove these bumperettes? Do they just snap in place?

I figure I'll ask before I start pulling.

underneath the bumperette is a cover--pop it out with a flathead. There is bolt located about 5 inches from the cover that attaches the bumperette to the frame. The uses a hex bolt/screw or something. It's difficult to unscrew without the right tool--I used an Allen wrench that was BARELY long enough--annoying. Once you loosen the bolt, the bumperette lifts off. You don't have to completely unscrew the bolt, just loosen it.

I assume you mean I need to look behind the bumper for the bolt to loosen?

No, Ivangene, that is for '01 and older only cars. '02 and newer have no bolt at all, but are snapped in to place only, and they can not easily be removed without breaking tabs unless the rear bumper cover is removed. once removed the tabs can easily be pushed to the side and the cover pops off w/o any damage. BTW, a cover, primed is $99 from Sunset. I'm waiting to find some side skirts and then get my cover painted (same tiny dent from a license plate bolt on mine from 2mph tap) with them, otherwise the setup alone kills you for one small part.
