...wonder if durability will be better than there other exhaust products?

...like my Fabspeed exhaust that the packing came loose in 1 year (Fabspeed will not replace them for issues with the packing in the mufflers) and the muffler that cracked open in 3 years.

Just interested--how do you know if packing comes loose? Thanks!

[QUOTE=Marlon;6830666]Do the pipes actually co-mingle the exhaust from each side???

Marlon, the two pipes do have a talk area but not too much where it creates a restriction. This design actually generates a low pressure and high pressure effect on the X Pipe which in return, creates a vacuum affect pulling the exhaust gases out of the car faster and making more power and sound.

02 Carrera, our exhaust products are made from the highest quality T304 stainless steel and we use the newest and innovative equipment to make our products better and stronger. I am sorry you had problem with your Fabspeed mufflers and I dont know who you spoke to here, but If you could send the mufflers back with an RA number, attention my name, I will make sure it gets handled and warranted properly. PM or email me your information and I will get this fixed right away.

Thanks,

Alex informed me today that this X/Catpipe may not be a direct bolt-on for the factory exhaust. He did not know for sure, but 1-2" may need to be removed from the slipjoint side.

I may or may not have time this weekend to find out, but I will report back when I do. In the meantime, here is a picture of the C4S with its *** in the air.

Pull one and shake it. If it sounds like a salt shaker, the packing came loose. Basically, it just settles in the bottom of the muffler. Once the packing comes loose, they get a little louder.

Ask Alex about it? When I sent mine in, they told me it is normal; although I have never seen this as normal with any other muffler manufacturer. I am guessing they use a low grade packing material. They didn't replace my mufflers, but did send me a Fabspeed T-shirt when they sent them back.

Thanks!

I've got everything complete except for the bolt in of the pipe. I will need to trim off ~2" from each slip joint end. *grrr* Can maybe do that tomorrow.

If you have a stock exhaust system make sure you tell Fabspeed that when you order so they can trim it off for you before they ship.

Any chance of getting the same plumbing, but without the catalytic converters for pure race application?

mglobe, We have not made the new X Pipe Catbypass Pipes but we do have our regular cross over Catbypass pipes in stock. We will bring the new design over to catbypass pipes in the next few months. Let me know if you have any questions and I can get you set of catbypass pipes for a discount.

Zookie, these will bolt right up to your existing Tube and EVO setup with no issues. All hardware is included for an easy installation. Let me know know if you have any questions and PM if you're intersted.
Thanks,
