Getting close PPI underway
Gents,
Well, I soon may be joining the Rennlist group officially. I'm a paying member without a ride at the moment.
I have a 03 911 6spd coupe in for a PPI as I type. The car is silver with Metropol blue leather.
The car is loaded with all of my favorite options.
Sport desgin wheels
Sport exhaust
Supple leatehr seats
bose
xenon headlights
PSM
lumbar support seats and a few other options.
Just under $17k in factory options.
Hopefully I'll have good news to report and pics to show shortly.

Sounds nice. I assume this is the car for sale by owner, with the freshly painted hood? If so, I drove that one. Very nice, and with a CPO. Good luck with it. I have mine now, so we can meet up at Lantana one day.
Best,

Sounds good Todd. yeah, the owner said his kids bike scratched the hood.
Did you get the same story? Did you see it before or after the scratch?
Hopefully will meet at Lantana soon.

Yes, same story. The scratch was surface level, not a big deal, but noticable in the light. I talked to that guy for an hour after I test drove. Seemed like a descent honest guy - a guy I would have felt comfortable buying a car from. He was having the scratch repaired at the most expensive body shop in the area.
When I looked at that car, I still wanted a convertible at that point, so given the increased cost for an 03 and the fact that it was a convertible, I didn't pursue further.
Car seemed in great shape to me and a good value.

Thanks Todd,
Yeah, the place he took the car to only handles the high end exotic or luxury cars.
If it's not an s-class, 7 series, ferrari etc, you won't see it there.
He does seem like a really nice honest guy. I'll let you know what the PPI uncovers, if anything. I really contemplated not getting a PPI (since the car is CPO'd) but I just didn't want to leave much to chance.
Thanks,
Jim

The PPI is still a good idea. If anything mechanical is wrong, then it is covered under CPO.
The only thing they can probably tell you to blow up the deal is that the frame is twisted, or the car has been tracked heavily, or something like that.
Little likelihood of that, and if they do say that, then it was worth the PPI $$.
I guess I will be seeing a lot of that freshly painted hood in my rearview mirror!! (lol, time for some trash talkin'!)
