I have a 4-spoke but the three-spoke looks cool. What are s0me pros and cons and experiences??? Also for DE events - which is best - or do you simply install an aftermarket and ditch the aire bag - or is that not legal???

Well - without the glasses and a closed-mouth grin, option 1 is probably ok

Is it cost effective to simply one and the required adaptor from Sunset?

Hey Eastbay, welcome to Rennlist!

Never liked the 4 spoke on my 944's... and ditched the one in my 86 for a 930S 3 spoke.

With a name like EastBay, glad you're not selling sneakers.

The 3 spoke wheel has a better feel than my 4 spoke, due to its thicker rim size. It feels way better than the thinner 4 spoke.

Ah - Ha! - a pertinent point emerges!!! How about the diameter of the wheel - is it the same or different from the 4-spoker???

As mentioned in another thread I find the 4 spoke convenient for tighter corners, where it is easy to drop a thumb to the lower spoke to avoid crossing arms or shuffling. The 3-spoke does look nice, though the "Buick" type remarks are not exactly the kind of thing I'd expect to come across on these forums.

Default Hey Weather can you measure your wheel diameter?

There is no "adaptor" fro a 3 spoke, you just need the wheel and airbag. I know because I did the change on my car. Still have a 4 spoke in Savanah Beige, in like new condition, and the matching airbag, if anyone is interested.
