nearly 300 but its round. tequipment also has a replacement alum shift **** with alum horseshoe base i put in mine.... stubbier than stock i like mucho. you can see it here.
Very timely post! I also dislike the stock **** on my 2002 C2...way too thin at the bottom, tall, and just plain, well, plain. I just ordered the 3rd one from Sunset..$308, with some other items. It is the same 6 speed **** used on the later Boxster S's. Not round, but better than the stock one...I hope. I like the Turbo *****, but don't like it to say Turbo, as if I'm a poseur. I also like round ones, but the techart one shown required a boot similar to the one I ordered. just too $$$. I plan on doing a comparison/measuring post.
Well, IMHO, this was money very well spent. The replacement **** is metal, with a covered leather section, so it has much nicer heft and shifts smoother. It is also shorter and better proportioned. Also, the engraved in metal shift pattern is just much much nicer than the plastic insert on the stock & similar *****. It also mounts via an allen set screw, so no more tugging/yanking to remove it. I might try the B&M SS (again, I still have it mounted in another carrier), but it really shines with just the replacement 997 shifter. I know this is "old news" to old timers on this board, but since P cars are rare in many non Cali locations, it's not like you can see different ***** for comparison just anywhere. Some comparison pics..
