That was a good stunt but Schumie is not the Stig!!
HE is way too busy with Ferrari business and F1 to be driving around on every episode of Top Gear although it would be fun to see him drive some of the cars on the show.
Great show....i love the humour between the 3 of them and certainly Jeremy C. has a great sense of timing with one liners!
I'd love to have his job!!

I think MS is the coolest outcome for the Stig. But I just don't buy it.

Default Everyone knows Rowan Atkinson is the Stig! You ever seen them together? No. Obvious.

agree... no way... he has to be way too busy to be the Stig.

Love Top Gear... by far the best car show on TV

Of course Schumacher is not the Stig, but it's one hell of a cameo appearance/PR stunt to kick off the new season and the ratings went through the roof. I haven't seen the whole episode yet, I wonder if they got Herr Michael to do a few laps in the Reasonably Priced Car.

There is no better non-fiction show on TV anywhere in the world better than Top Gear. I predict the US version will be a huge flop.

do you think it is the "dry" British humour or some of the expressions they use that many people here don't "get"?

Except maybe Fifth Gear!

Jeremy is kind of a weasel sometimes, plus he can't drive a 911.

I liked the episode where they drove through the US South with old American cars painted with slogans like "NASCAR SUCKS" and "I"M GAY." lol

The US version was shelved awhile ago. Adam Carolla did the pilot and the TV studio decided that offending the auto industry wasn't a good idea.

Thank god for that! If I had to watch Adam Carolla and Tanner Foust and the other guy together on TV I might just have to shoot myself.

The whole reason that Top Gear is so good is that it does not pander to the auto industry, or politicians, or celebrities, or anyone. The premise is pure genius, 3 guys cocking about and saying and doing pretty much anything they want.

The reason MS was the 'stig' for this show was that no one else would 'lend' an FXX for a track test and the factory wanting the PR decided to lend the show one on condition that a factory test driver drive it. Rumor has it that the bright idea was floated by the Top Gear guys that Shumie be the driver and Ferrari agreed if MS would agree.

I wondered about the test by MS in the four banger and you have to figure that he did drive the car and he will be placed under the race car drivers group as was Mansel, Hill and Hamilton - at least I *hope* we will see it later in the season if he did. FYI: Hamilton has promised to come back this year and drive that s**tbox around their track again, but this time in the dry. Gotta think MS would like to try to beat his time...

Yes I can confirm that Schumaker is not the Stig, and all you racing snobs are going to be heavily disapointed.

Anyone with encyclopedic knowledge of NASCAR?
