6 Speed Transmission Issues...
First Gear is Whining (Like a Reverse Gear)... and Going from 2nd to 3rd past 6k RPM it Grinds...

Sounds like a bearing and synchro replacement is a comin'.

Mine was whining in every gear when coasting, even in neutral while rolling.
It's in the shop now for a complete rebuild.

Basically. Vertex has rebuilds for $3500. Then of course your removal and install price from your local indy.
