Default Wheel Problems

Need some advice on some wheel fitment problems. I bought these wheels on ebay. They are 19 x 10 and 19 x 8.5. I put some some Sumitomo III 235 35 19 on the fronts. When we put the front wheels on, the curved spoke rubbed a bit on the front caliper. So I got some HR 7mm spacers to put on the front. After putting on the spacers, the tire rubs the front and back inside of the tire well. I had this work done at discount tire. Are there things a shop can do to the well to make this work?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

the tires rubbed inside the well when we turned the steering wheel left and right.

What are the offsets of the wheels?

Put the OEM size on the left side and your new set up on the right, down the page there are suggestions of what to do - or options,... its really a very useful tool (you must put in the offsets too)

C2 or C4 - for C2 your tires are too wide IMO 235

Not sure the width (235) is the problem. I've run 235 on my NB C2 without an issue. Offset/spacer size is probably a bigger problem here.

I'm pretty sure 235/35 is OK for 19x8.5J (porsche supplies these on gt3s right)

Post the offsets for fronts

What does a 996 GT3 come with?

The 997 GT3 comes equipped with 8.5 and 12 x 19 inch rims and 235/35 and 305/30 tires. It probably all comes down to offset. If you're actually touching a brake caliper than i would have elected to go for a 5mm spacer (not 7mm) to gain just enough clearance and no more.

Rear: 11 J x 18 H2, 63.0 mm offset, p/n 996 362 142 04

Approved Tires:
Front: 235/40 ZR18
Rear: 295/30 ZR 18
Michelin Pilot Sport 2, N2
Pirelli P-ZERO ROSSO, N4

FWIW I run 56mm Minus 15mm spacer = 41mm up front on 8.5J / 235/35 and 67mm 11J 315/25 (997 044 602 25?) out back, never rubbed, excellent tire wear (stock suspension)
