Default Wheel Problems

Need some advice on some wheel fitment problems. I bought these wheels on ebay. They are 19 x 10 and 19 x 8.5. I put some some Sumitomo III 235 35 19 on the fronts. When we put the front wheels on, the curved spoke rubbed a bit on the front caliper. So I got some HR 7mm spacers to put on the front. After putting on the spacers, the tire rubs the front and back inside of the tire well. I had this work done at discount tire. Are there things a shop can do to the well to make this work?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't know if this will help, but give it a look.

I like this calculator
LINK

Put the OEM size on the left side and your new set up on the right, down the page there are suggestions of what to do - or options,... its really a very useful tool (you must put in the offsets too)

C2 or C4 - for C2 your tires are too wide IMO 235

Not sure the width (235) is the problem. I've run 235 on my NB C2 without an issue. Offset/spacer size is probably a bigger problem here.

I'm pretty sure 235/35 is OK for 19x8.5J (porsche supplies these on gt3s right)

Post the offsets for fronts

What does a 996 GT3 come with?

The 997 GT3 comes equipped with 8.5 and 12 x 19 inch rims and 235/35 and 305/30 tires. It probably all comes down to offset. If you're actually touching a brake caliper than i would have elected to go for a 5mm spacer (not 7mm) to gain just enough clearance and no more.

Dan - 6GT3:
Front: 8.5 J x 18 H2, 40.0 mm offset, p/n 996 362 136 05
Rear: 11 J x 18 H2, 63.0 mm offset, p/n 996 362 142 04

Approved Tires:
Front: 235/40 ZR18
Rear: 295/30 ZR 18
Michelin Pilot Sport 2, N2
Pirelli P-ZERO ROSSO, N4

Best,
Hans

FWIW I run 56mm Minus 15mm spacer = 41mm up front on 8.5J / 235/35 and 67mm 11J 315/25 (997 044 602 25?) out back, never rubbed, excellent tire wear (stock suspension)
